Why are you studying economics?

"I chose economics because I felt that it gave me the best toolkit to analyze the problems of the world. I believe firmly that education is not what to think, it's how to think. With economics, you learn how to analyze, essentially, any problem. And so I feel confident in what that major will give me, in terms of problem solving, and being able to apply that anywhere.”
What objects in your dorm represent your identity or home life?

“My posters. Dragon Ball. That's a piece of media that's very near and dear to my heart, because it’s a lot about persevering and becoming better the next day. This ‘into the lion’s den’ poster is the thing I most was looking forward to hanging up. Coming here, I’m in the lion’s den. This is where it’s real, right? Now, I have to work, I have to do. I have to do something important.”

What are you struggling with?

“I'd like to think I have very high expectations for the way I behave and the way I perform. And what I want to accomplish, so living up to that, especially on an almost constant basis. That's the greatest struggle, and that kind of branches out to everything. Sometimes you mess up and piss people off, and sometimes, you don't do as well as you want on some assignment. That and managing your time. Really, it's rough. The loneliness, sometimes, there's really no one to turn to. It’s something I'm really glad I understood: just because you're surrounded by people, doesn't mean you won't feel alone. You just have to be comfortable with being by yourself. And I hate to say this, because I cringe when I hear it, but love yourself!”
